All students in grades 3-8 have an opportunity to participate in the Lift-A-Ton program. Students use their own body weight in the form a 3 different types of push-ups to increase upper body and core strength, along with upper body endurance. Students are rewarded with colored “weight plate” charms for every ton (2,000 lbs) of body weight lifted through the completion of correct push ups. We are doing the 10 Ton Challenge, which is lifting 10 tons in 10 sessions. The students are excited about this new challenge, and the sessions will start twice a week in the mornings from 7:35-7:50 Tuesdays and Fridays in the art room.
