Janet Meyer taught for the School District of Indian River County for thirty years before retiring. She spent most of her time teaching first and second grades at Osceola Magnet School. While there, she spent time as Grade Level Team Leader, was a Supervising Teacher for student interns, and was a member of the county IRFIL team (Indian River Fellowship for Instructional Leaders). In 2009, she was named “Teacher of the Year” for Osceola Magnet, and was named “Mainstream Teacher of the Year” for her work with Exceptional Education students while she was at J.A. Thompson. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Michigan University in Elementary Education, and has her ESOL Endorsement. She is married to her husband Jeff, and they have two grown children who were raised in Vero Beach, and now both reside in Orlando.
